FAQ

What is the Tick in ARC Raiders?

The Tick is a small parasitic ARC machine that hides on ceilings and in dark corners of indoor areas. It waits motionless until a Raider walks underneath, then launches itself at the victim and latches onto their head, draining both health and shields at the same time.

How do you remove a Tick once it attaches?

Hold the interact button to pull it off your head. This takes a couple of seconds and leaves you completely vulnerable during the animation. You cannot shoot, sprint, or dodge while removing it, so make sure the area is clear of other threats first.

Where do Ticks hide?

Ticks lurk on ceilings, wall corners, and in dark indoor spaces. They are completely motionless until triggered, making them easy to miss if you are not actively scanning above you. Get in the habit of checking ceilings every time you enter a building or enclosed area.

What does the Tick drop?

Ticks drop ARC Alloy and Tick Pod. The Tick Pod is their unique component. The loot is modest, but clearing them prevents nasty surprises while you are looting an area.

How much damage does a Tick do?

A Tick drains both health and shields simultaneously for as long as it stays attached. The damage per second is moderate, but the real danger is being unable to fight back during the removal animation. If other ARC machines attack you while a Tick is latched on, you can go down fast.

Can teammates help remove a Tick?

Yes. A teammate can shoot the Tick off your head, which is faster than using the interact button yourself. If you are playing in a squad, call out immediately when one latches on so a teammate can free you while you stay mobile.
